Little Sweet Patience Maye
If I could leave today
and go back to yesterday,
I would kiss your little face
and save you from all of the pain.
Little Sweet Patience Maye
I would be the one to save you from going astray.
When I look at your sweet face today,
my heart breaks.
I would be the one you needed,
pick you up and keep your heart from bleeding.
If I knew then what I know now,
I would do everything I could to keep you from the devil’s beating.
Little Sweet Patience Maye
I’m sorry I faded away,
I didn’t know the truth.
I only wanted to find my way.
Your youth was spent drowning in pain and it led you to the devil’s doorway.
Little Sweet Patience Maye
I’m so sorry you had to go through what you went through.
I know it was scary, but I promise you were carried all the way.
It’s made you who you are today.
Little Sweet Patience Maye
I must tell you this.
Take a breath, I promise you will be okay.
You will survive and truly find your way.
It is going to hurt
but I promise,
it will make you stronger one day.
So hold on tight,
prepare to fight.
You are a survivor, so don’t lose sight.
You will meet someone named Jesus Christ.
He is the one who saved your life.
Little Sweet Patience Maye
May 21, 1996 was your birthday.
It was then the devil wanted to play.
Your mommy carried pain that kept her in chains, still to this day.
The devil had his way and meth was to blame.
It’s what took your mommy away and it’s what will soon led you astray.
It will make you a slave, in the grave.
Rape and videotapes.
I promise you’ll break away.
Little Sweet Patience Maye
Your mommy is lost,
it isn’t your fault.
She’ll soon go away and you’ll be lost.
You’ll think you’ll be trying to find love,
but it will be in all the wrong ways.
High school will be hard,
parties, bullies, and you won’t make straight A’s.
Your high school sweet heart will overdose and pass away.
Your mommy will come back, you won’t know what to say.
You’ll be excited to have her again and you’ll love her anyway.
Drinking and smoking will feel like your escape.
There will be tears in all of the ashtrays.
You’ll move to LA to try to find more for your life.
But you will be lost even deeper to the core.
You’ll come back home and darkness will start to roar.
You’ll start to do meth,
it will deceivingly make you soar.
Little Sweet Patience Maye
You’ll enter into something you’ve never known before.
You will go to your mom’s and think you are finally home and finally loved.
But it will be hell’s door.
You won’t know what you’ll be walking into, the devil’s voodoo.
God protects you and helps you breakthrough.
Your rebellion and troubled heart
will make you think you know everything.
A country girl, soon to be lying on a basement floor.
Under a bridge, facing a brain washing industry.
Sex trafficking and methamphetamine chemistry.
Your mom is not who you thought.
She drugs you and sells you to the people next door.
You’ll be destroyed to the core,
but remember, Jesus, who I mentioned before?
Little Sweet Patience Maye
You’ll be a fighter.
You’ll have a strength you’ve never known before.
You’ll fight to stay alive but want to die all at the same time.
You’ll weep and be so broken but soon you will be awoken.
It’s God’s glory that will shine.
Little Sweet Patience Maye
You are not the junkie they say,
Jesus comes and saves the day.
He will rescue you from there and take you far away.
You’ll be completely devastated, broken, with excruciating pain.
It’s only then that you will surrender and come to find that Jesus is the only way.
You will be saved,
The Potter’s clay.
You will learn the Bible and how to pray.
You will forgive your mommy and pray she too will be saved one day.
You’ll find out who you are,
your heart will shine like the stars.
God’s grace will shine on your face, heal you, and wash the shame away.
You’ll get to learn healing is a journey.
Mountain tops, mistakes, valleys, and dark days.
Little Sweet Patience Maye
In the learning, purifying, and refining,
you’ll do a whole lot of crying.
But only in the process will you find the truth.
You’ll fall and make mistakes, your heart will continue to break.
But Jesus is just teaching you how to run this great race.
Smile and dance in the rain, sweet one.
The pain is what teaches you true love and grace.
Little Sweet Patience Maye
Jesus calls you chosen,
you will no longer be so broken.
He left the 99 to find you and carry you home.
He will help you love yourself, He calls you fully loved and fully known.
You will find freedom in His name.
You’ll always have to fight for peace and rebuke the devil away.
But you’ll become a warrior for Jesus.
You’ll struggle and have really bad days.
You’ll think evil wins anyway.
But it’s all because Jesus calls you His.
You must fight, trust, and hush the devil’s hiss.
In Him you have victory.
Stand on what you know.
Even when your mind seems to go.
Never give up.
I’m sorry I’ve internalized all of the pain and got to a place where I hated your face.
The devil cannot win,
I promise you’re worthy of love.
Your heart is one of God’s great grace.
God will send you people that will love you and help you rise above.
You are never alone,
never truly abandoned.
You are seated next to God on His Heavenly throne.
Little Sweet Patience Maye
I promise I’m fighting for you,
forgive me.
Don’t let the pain kill you,
cling to God with all of your strength.
Your softness is not weakness.
Don’t let the world dim your light,
always keep your meekness.
You are beautiful in God’s sight.
Jesus is always with you.
Look up and smile, sweet one.
Keep loving fiercely.
The victory has only begun.
I love you, Little Sweet Patience Maye.
