This piece was a collaborative effort between local designer Kasey Blizzard and the Springfield community. At first glance, or at a distance, the viewer may see a colorful depiction of hope; as they draw near they may begin to notice small “imperfections”. Variances were intentionally left to represent community members’ authentic efforts and the experience of getting to know someone’s most genuine, though imperfect, self. This painting was colored by more than 100 individual volunteers in paint-by-number format.
